2021 Womany Play With Time: As Usual – Planner Design

A s U s u a l 2021 Play With Time by WOMANY { Planner Design }Following last year's collaboration on Womany's first designer planner, I was honored to lead the design for the 2021 edition.The theme, 'As Usual,' resonated deeply, especially during a global pandemic where cherishing each day became paramount. What truly defines 'as usual'? This seemingly ordinary, yet abstract and broad theme, evokes unique interpretations for everyone.I chose 'a window' as the core element to convey this concept, explored through two main aspects.First, our daily ritual of opening curtains to feel the light and humidity, considering attire as weather influences mood – viewing through a window initiates the day. Second, during uncertain times, windows became our direct link to the outside world. Each pane reflected a shared longing. We learned patience, shifting from outward exploration to inner reflection and self-connection.Windows, once taken for granted, maintained their usual presence but gained profound significance in this era.Unlike last year, this project expanded beyond the planner to include related merchandise: a poster for personal reflection, postcards to celebrate friendships, and a sticker set for internal planner use. A deluxe edition featuring the planner and full merchandise was also designed with special packaging.Planner Cover: Fabric hardcover (two colors available); Inner Pages: Japanese Tomoe River Paper.
