Tai Chang Tang – Brand Identity

Tai Chang Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy in Tianmu, Taipei. In 2020, three young practitioners took over, preserving local culture while expanding services to offer comprehensive patient care.The "Tai" character in the I Ching signifies the harmonious convergence of heaven and earth, bringing peace and flourishing like spring. "Chang" is symmetrical, representing stability and steadfastness.My objective was to create a new brand identity that blends tradition with modernity, maintaining trust with long-time clients while attracting new ones to experience the clinic and pharmacy.I designed the "Tai Chang Tang" logotype using a contemporary brushstroke style – rounded, stable, yet not old-fashioned. This was combined with a clean, neutral English typeface. The emblem-style logo integrates elements such as loquat leaves, ginseng fruit, and acupuncture needles, symbolizing the integration of innovative design into a traditional industry.
